Warner Family Practice has created a new program utilizing allergy drops—also known as sublingual immunotherapy. Allergy drops work like allergy shots, slowly desensitizing you to your allergies, but they are done at home. Allergy drops can safely and effectively treat a broad range of allergies, including pollens, dander and other environmental allergies.
The drops vary in concentration levels over time, so that your body becomes trained to disregard these allergens once you come in contact with them. Unlike allergy shots, the drops are painless, portable and self-administered, so you can take them with you whether you are at work or traveling around the world. In addition, most patients feel relief from symptoms in as little as one to three months.
Who Can Take Allergy Drops?
Allergy drops are for anyone who suffers from pollen, food or chemical allergies, rashes, eczema and other skin allergies. Children with ADHD and ADD frequently have allergies that contribute to this condition.
Toddlers and babies as small as six months are able to be treated.
An Investment in Your Health and Quality of Life
Aside from being a safe, effective and patient-friendly treatment, allergy drop therapy is also affordable. Allergy testing and office visits are typically covered by insurance carriers; however, you may want to check with your insurance provider to see if those services will be applied towards your deductible. Warner Family Practice does not bill the cost of allergy drops to insurance carriers and we offer this service at a cash price. Your cost will be dependent on how many units are dispensed to the patient.
Cost of Utilizing Allergy Drop Treatment
Please feel free to discuss the cash cost of these drops up front with us. The cost of mixing and dispensing the drops is dependent upon the severity of the patient’s allergies and many times lower than paying a weekly copay for allergy shots, as well as saving you time.
Most patients agree this temporary investment is well worth the improvement in their health, reduction in allergy-related expenses and overall quality of life.
