This week, the final week in January, is your last best opportunity to stave off the potential of contracting the flu. However, this is one more reason that you should strongly consider getting your flu shot if you’ve been putting it off: Phoenix is about to be inundated with visitors from all over the world.

On February 1st the football championship game will be held in Glendale and visitors have already begun arriving. It’s a very exciting time for our state, being on the world’s stage, but for those of us who live here we still have our everyday responsibilities. Being on the world’s stage means that all those visiting will be bringing any type of viruses or germs that may be plaguing the towns from where they came.

Now is the time to be most intentional about washing your hands at every appropriate opportunity. Commit to coughing into your arm or shoulder and encourage those close to you to do the same. Carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer with you in your car or carrying bag and use it accordingly.

All of these best practices are easy and require very little effort, however, should you find yourself in contact with the flu virus those who have had a flu shot are the top candidates to avoid becoming ill.

Our patients know we are all about keeping them healthy. That’s why we do what we do. We also know that your time is precious. As was the case in December we are continuing through January to administer walk-in flu shots for any Warner Family Practice patient. Come in during our normal office hours and we will have one of our staff see you within minutes.

The amount of time it takes for you to visit us to receive a flu shot is minimal compared to the amount of time it will take to beat the flu should you come down with it.

If you have questions please contact our office and our team will be more than happy to make sure you have everything you need. Remember though, no appointment is needed – just come on in!
