Ericka is a native of Arizona. She grew up in Queen Creek, which has grown tremendously but was largely a farming community during her childhood. Ericka and her younger siblings got to enjoy the perks of living in a close-knit community.
Growing up, Ericka lived in a uniquely multigenerational household. At one point there were four generations under one roof. She learned to care for siblings a decade younger, assisted grandparents with progressive disease processes, and helped enrich the life of an uncle with special needs. Caring for those around her was her earliest education, and healthcare was a natural transition.
The concept of human well-being is interesting to Ericka. She was fascinated with college anatomy, physiology, and the ability of the human body to heal. The natural combination of these interests led her to the medical field and a desire for a holistic practice.
“The most rewarding part of practicing medicine is watching people reach their desired health goals, and seeing them feel a sense of ownership of their well-being.”
Preventative care is at the core of Ericka’s practice. People are complex combinations of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. This amazing complexity requires care and maintenance. Regular, holistic evaluation provides a touchstone for both patient and provider to identify issues and prevent escalation of chronic concerns and avoid or reverse new onset of health problems.
“Successful patient-provider interactions are those built on trust and mutual respect, regularly setting and re-evaluating goals to help patients achieve their optimum health. Success comes with mutual investment in health.”
Everyday is a chance to make new and different choices. Ericka certainly has no expectation of perfection of any person. One of the most rewarding parts of her practice is when these individuals come in with a desire to improve their health/situation. Judgement has no place in those interactions. She is thrilled to offer support, guidance, and resources to help the patient get to where they want to be.
Ericka is very close to her family and is very lucky to have many of them nearby. Much of her free time is spent being a doting aunt to family and friends’ children. She enjoys taking advantage of the beautiful Arizona autumns and winters and spending time outdoors. Ericka is a notorious jack-of-all-trades hobbyist. From patio-gardens to wood carving, she’s probably tried it!
“I’m excited to meet you! Know you come to a judgement-free interaction that is designed to help you achieve and maintain health. I provide a compassionate straightforward approach to care, and appreciate the uniqueness of every person I interact with.”
